Lung Cancer Awareness Night

The Sending Support Society hosted a Lung Cancer Awareness Event on December 19th in the Pingry O’Connor Boardroom (Room 470) from 6:00-7:30 PM. Participants learned about the causes of lung cancer, how it affects the many who suffer from it, prevention methods, and how everyone can make a change from a student-led presentation. Oncologist physician guest speaker, Dr. Monica Giovannini, also led an interactive presentation, and dinner was provided. At the end of the night, all participants were also given take-home pamphlets summarizing daily lifestyle changes they could implement to reduce their risk of being susceptible to lung cancer. There was a $10 required entry donation, but additional donations were encouraged, and the night was a huge success! All donations will go towards the American Cancer Society.
